Welcome – I’m glad you’re here.
There’s a reason you’ve landed on this page today. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply curious about the idea of counselling, I want to reassure you – you’re not alone. We all need support from time to time. Life has a way of challenging us in ways we don’t always expect or know how to navigate.
My own journey into counselling began with being a client myself. Through that process, I was able to gently unpick years of unhealthy patterns and behaviours. I learned how to understand my responses, recognise my triggers, and see more clearly how I relate to the world around me. That experience changed everything for me – it was the catalyst for finding a more balanced, authentic way of living.
It’s what inspired me to train as a counsellor. Now, I’m here to offer the same space for you: a space to explore, make sense of what’s going on inside and around you, and find your own path forward.
You don’t have to do it all alone.
“We think we listen, but very rarely do we listen with real understanding, true empathy. Yet listening, of this very special kind, is one of the most potent forces for change that I know” - Carl Rogers, founder of Person-centred counselling
“In our darkest moments, we don’t need solutions or advice. We simply crave the warmth of human connection. A gentle touch, a silent presence—these are the anchors that ground us when life’s storms rage. Don’t try to fix me. Don’t carry my burden or chase away my shadows. Instead, be the steady hand I can hold as I navigate my inner landscape”

How I Work
At Samphire Counselling, I am dedicated to providing professional and compassionate counselling services tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. My mission is to support and empower clients on their journey toward emotional well-being and personal growth.
I see clients face to face in Helston and in Pool, as well as online / telephone. At the heart of my practice is a person-centred approach, which means I will meet you with empathy, honesty, and respect. Our work will be collaborative, guided by your unique experiences, needs, and hopes for change. Where helpful, I may integrate tools from other therapeutic approaches to support deeper understanding.
I bring over a decade of experience supporting individuals with a wide range of needs, including those affected by addiction, domestic abuse, and learning difficulties. I also work with families and loved ones who are navigating the impact of these challenges, offering a safe and supportive space to process and heal.
My practice is informed by a strong understanding of neurodivergence and the unique ways it can shape how we experience the world. I also hold a sensitive awareness of the transitions of perimenopause and menopause—not only how they affect the individual going through them, but also how they can impact the people around them.
A key part of my work is recognising how emotion is often held in the body. Where helpful, I can offer grounding techniques and body-based awareness practices to support regulation and connection.
Creative expression can also be a valuable part of our work together, providing another pathway to explore, express, and make sense of your inner world—especially when words alone may not feel enough.
Whatever brings you here, you're welcome exactly as you are.
